Teacher Grants, Scholarships & Fellowships

The News Literacy Project advances the development and teaching of news literacy in K-12 education.  Applications are now being accepted for our next cohort of fellows. You will need to engage the right people in your district’s administration to support your application, so we encourage you to begin your application early. The submission deadline is Dec. 1 at 11:59 p.m. ET.

Wisconsin Teachers Only This summer, Dr. Michelle Schwarze of the University of Wisconsin-Madison will offer “The American Idea: Politics, Freedom, and Conflict” through the Graduate Consortium. In this course, students will trace the evolution of American political thought from the colonial era through the Civil War, examining how promises of liberty, equality, and democracy took shape and collided in practice by reading and assessing primary sources. For the class, students will discuss the readings, think about using primary sources in their classrooms, and complete a final curricular project

The National Archives Foundation welcomes K-12 educators from across the country to apply for this unique opportunity. Our three-day intensive experience is designed to help elementary and secondary educators bring primary source-based activities to their students to increase civic awareness and engagement.
