In-Person Event: Leading for Change: Facing History & Ourselves in Madison
In our increasingly divided society, administrators and academic leaders face a unique opportunity to bring informed, respectful, and productive discourse to their school communities. To do so, leaders must play an active role in fostering environments and providing guidance and training to educators so these discussions can take place constructively. The Facing History & Ourselves framework for engaging in and facilitating challenging conversations highlights the importance of these conversations, provides concrete tools for school leaders, and supports educators who want to engage students in lessons and conversations about current events and controversial topics.
Join us for a free networking event for school and community constituents to learn with Dr. Marcelle Haddix, Dean of the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Education, about why these conversations are critical. We will also share information about Facing History & Ourselves partnership opportunities. Our proven approach is both academically rigorous and emotionally engaging, backed by nearly 50 years of data about student learning and engagement. We’ll also share how we promote a culture of dialogue and reflection in classrooms, schools and districts.
