History and Organization
The Wisconsin Civic Learning Coalition is a group of organizations and individuals committed the strengthening nonpartisan civics education in Wisconsin. We became a formal organization in 2022, after many months of conversations among our founding members about the importance of building a structure to strengthen civic learning in our state.
In 2023 we formed a steering committee to guide the direction of our work together. Our entire membership convenes every other month to build community and create a shared vision for our work. We also have four working groups that reflect our goals and priorities for 2024:
- Teaching and Learning
- Communications
- Advocacy
- High School Voter Registration
Funding
Our work is supported by generous donations from individuals who share our vision, as well as grants from CivXNow, the Dolby Family Foundation, and the Madison Civics Club.
